Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Feb 27, 2012 9:21 am We are just about to build a new home and are considering using the Dupont Simplicity benchtops as I was told it was a less expensive way to obtain a solid benchtop, but I have just been given a costing from the builder of $7100 and have baulked a little at the price. Can anyone tell me if this is a reasonable cost for two bench tops 1000mm x 2500mm and 600mm x 4000mm. We have had an issue with a costing for one of the other items for our house and I just want to make sure that we are getting reasonable quotes from the builder. Many Thanks. Re: Costing for Simplicity Benchtops? Too expensive? 3Feb 27, 2012 6:19 pm If you decided to use Caesar Stone or Quantum Quartz (etc). you're price would be considerably lower. That's 2 slabs for the two benches, one with a join through the center. Depending on the edge profile you've chosen but $7100 sounds extremely expensive. Re: Costing for Simplicity Benchtops? Too expensive? 4Feb 28, 2012 7:28 pm Thanks guys. Have just been told by the builder that this cost includes 'waterfall edges' on two ends of the island bench, which makes me feel a bit better about the price. Will definitely investigate the Ceasar Stone option though.. Re: Costing for Simplicity Benchtops? Too expensive? 5Feb 29, 2012 6:35 am Still sounds very expensive! In Caesarstone you should expect to pay around $4000-$5000 Cutting Edge Kitchens and Cabinet Making http://cuttingedgekitchens.net.au http://www.facebook.com/pages/Cutting-Edge-Kitchens/290484196676 Mobile : 0419 430 575 PH: 9452 4772 Fax :9452 4772 cuttingedgekitchens@outlook.com Re: Costing for Simplicity Benchtops?
