Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Feb 18, 2012 7:57 pm Hi all, Finally my kitchen has started going in, and I've reached the point where I can put up my canopy rangehood, but I'm unsure what the best way is to secure it and support its weight. The mounting plate only has two screw holes, one on each side. I'm pretty sure the left one is going to line up nicely with a wall stud, however the right one will only have plasterboard behind it. Should I just use a heavy duty plasterboard anchor on this side?? Or do I have to go to the trouble of securing a piece of timber between the studs? I really don't want to have to patch up plaster.... Not 100% sure of the weight of the hood; it's an Asko glass canopy rangehood.
