Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Feb 18, 2012 12:01 am Hi all. Been lurking in the background for a little while now as I have been researching our minor reno. At present we are doing up our kitchen. We have decided on poly wrap pure white (cant think of the name) cupboards, to go with a white stone benchtop. At the moment the options for the benchtop are: Caesarstone 'Nougat', QQ 'Turino' and a bit of an unknown - R H L 'Ice rock'. By having the gift of the gab I managed to get some pretty sizable sample pieces - 600 x 600 of each. Now the difficulty I am having is that I cant really tell the difference between them. Nougat is a little different but QQ 'Turino'and R H L 'Ice Rock' are identical. I am a bit wary of choosing an 'unknown' brand but the savings between the two are massive $1000. Should this be an issue? There is a warranty of 10years but if the company doesnt exist in 2months, what good is it... The company doing the bench swears by the product (R H L) and say they have been using them for years with no issues. Google it It is a chinese imported stone. We have used this stone in particular in the past, we haven't had an issue with it at all. To be safe with the warranties and stuff we recommend QQ or CS but if a customer wants the savings it does bring then that's their choice. We've never had any stone issues with RHF but another place YDL we have. They don't honour the warranty at all.. Just be careful. For peace of mind is the saving worth it, but like I said we have never had any issue with RHF personally. 11 19748 Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. 1 15887 Thanks Simon, I guess I'm no concerned with the volume of the noise rather that dead and hollow sound and feel that is associated with floating floors.
