As such, it's no where near double the amount of material required. The additional cost comes from the small additional quantity of material for the edges and the additional labour associated with making the laminated edge. Re: Ocean foam - caesarstone 6Feb 17, 2012 2:31 pm All Caesarstone colours come in 20mm and some come in 30mm. Caesarstone doesnt actually supply a 40mm product. The join two 20mm pieces together. It is usually only the front edge that is thickened. This eliminates seeing a join, which in some colours can be quite prominent and other just a faint line. Ask your kitchen company how their stone mason does their 40mm stone, sandwich or mitre the front edge. Hope this helps With 25 years kitchen experience and a passion for what I do, I have joined this forum to offer advice or at least my opinion on all things relevant to kitchens. Ask your kitchen company how their stone mason does their 40mm stone, sandwich or mitre the front edge. Hope this helps I wouldn't say "good stonemasons mitre the front edge". Mitred edge and laminations are both done exceptionally well at our company. Mitring edges are usually done on 50mm or more edges, but 40mm is becoming more and more popular as a mitred edge. It is in turn more expensive than lamination. The join would only be "quite prominent" if the stonemason doesn't have the right glue colour or they haven't buffed the edges well enough in all of the different roughnesses. A faint line should be the most you'd ever see. Re: Ocean foam - caesarstone 12May 23, 2013 5:30 pm kmcgreg I think they just join two 20mm layes together - it looks seamless. I am getting the same stone. Just need to find a white vinyl to match. I know this is an old post but jsut wondering if you ended up using the Ocean Foam and if so which white vinyl did you go with?? Not expansion foam, but a expansion joint foam. Two very different products. And it should be installed and wrapped around your storm water penetrations where the… 1 3347 Oh no! I would use a can of expandable foam ( there are some that will take render) then cut it back and render over the top 1 1656 |
