I'd love to see it? It's usually 20mm CS with a mitred edge; if done well, as in some sample work I've seen, it looks excellent, and the joint isn't visible. The grain is also continuous through that 80mm, so looks like one thick piece. Our main island is 80mm - so yes the actual slab on top is a 20mm slab then we have an 80mm apron across the front and back with 80mm waterfalls on each edge. Both the aprons and waterfall edges are boxed in so it looks like a solid piece of stone 80mm thick looking from underneath / each side. Our raised servery in the centre is 40mm which is just two slabs joined together. Some things are worth waiting for. I would never build with Fowler homes.
