Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Dec 04, 2011 2:41 pm Hi, all you people with beautiful kitchens (you know who you are!), please could you recommend a slightly of-white colour for my 2 pack cupboards and drawers. Im hoping for something not too cream/beige. It will be a high gloss finish, but not stark white as it would clash with the floor tiles which are (you guessed it) slightly off-white!. Benchtop is granite in Ivory Fantasy. I have seen a few photos of ones I like but often I find out they are pure white but just throwing the colour of the wall etc. Feel free to comment on any or all of the above! However the granite and floor tiles are already purchased. Thanks. Re: Kitchen drawers & cupboards colour - Help! 2 Pack off-wh 3Dec 05, 2011 1:22 pm we used gentle beige laminex. it is a deep white, but not cream. Re: Kitchen drawers & cupboards colour - Help! 2 Pack off-wh 4Dec 05, 2011 1:34 pm My kitchen cupboards are the Laminex ColourTech ones (2 pac) and painted in "Alabaster". Hubby was adamant about NOT having an all whilte kitchen, so we compromised and went slightly off whilte. It's a warm colour without being too yellow or too pink. I love it! All my other cabinets are the same (but kitchen is only one in 2 pac). It's throwing a bit of colour in the first one as it was evening, and had the lights on. I'm quite excited about the alibaster, and the gentle beige. I think both would work well. Maybe the antique white too. Kiwi your benchtop is amazing! And can I ask what thickness the benchtops are? I love that 'chunky' look! PS any other suggestions and/or pics welcome. Re: Kitchen drawers & cupboards colour - Help! 2 Pack off-wh 7Dec 05, 2011 6:26 pm 100mm of good old fashioned laminate! (I love chunk too) burnished wood is on the back wall, and ornamental expresso is on the breakfast bar. When I am bored with the swirly, I can cover it over with more laminate, or I have seen some white granite. Will just glue it over the top and sides. (not waterfall edge) easy The back bench can just stay like it is. The breakfast bar was always meant to change with the decades parchment is also another 'white' and spanish white is also popular. good luck with choosing, took me a while but I am so glad I went whitish. (and not bright pure white) Re: Kitchen drawers & cupboards colour - Help! 2 Pack off-wh 9Dec 05, 2011 8:49 pm We used Solver "Designer White" on our hallway linen cupboards, it's only 30% gloss 2pac there so it's obviously not that shiny. The colour looks really white until you compare it to something actually white! It's just a warm white, no pink/yellow but not as stark as a pure white. Hope that makes sense Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Building our custom design "Dream Home" Follow my Build - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=46820 Contract Signed - 28/04/11 Siteworks Commenced - 20/06/11 Like pulse said, you can fit drawers however because of the placement of the sink there isn't much depth so you would have to have cut outs for the waste pipes.
