Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Dec 04, 2011 12:46 pm Hi all I've almost finished my kitchen reno except for 2 things. 1) Splashback I got several quotes for around 3sqm best price I got was $1400 with standard painted glass (tempered but not starfire) since the colour I want is red starfire wont make much difference. Has anyone found anywhere cheaper? 2) Had a $29 bunnings tap installed by the plumber but failed in 3 months, went to bunnings and exchanged for a $100 which I realized was not working properly before I installed. My budget is up to $150 for an extendable one. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance Re: Need suggestions on splashback and Mixer Tap. 2Dec 06, 2011 12:12 pm Ikea's got a pull out tap which looks ok and comes with a 10 yr warranty: http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/20129634/ Re: Need suggestions on splashback and Mixer Tap. 3Dec 06, 2011 3:49 pm Thanks Jaeger nice tap at a decent price. I ended up buying one in a hurry at bunnings for $39 (non extendible) Still looking for a glazier Re: Need suggestions on splashback and Mixer Tap. 4Dec 07, 2011 9:13 pm Hi renokingoffail (exceptional username BTW), I see you've already purchased a tap, but just wanted to say that I reckon you'd be pushing it for a decent quality extendable for <$150 - the word on the street is that the ones with a fabric coating around the extendable line fray and fail and you need to spend extra to get one with a metal line. I got a Methven extendable for <$250 on sale from Bourne Kitchens and Bathrooms but I reckon you can do better on eBay... With regards to your splashback, I reckon that's a good price. I've been consistently quoted ~$1200 for a 2sqm in starphire - $1400 sounds good for 3sqm plain float glass. Just be careful with the green tinge in the glass - red + green = brown. It could end up looking a little like rust, which could actually be a really nice finish... Hi, Looking to add an ensuite to one of the bedrooms and make it a Master BR. Please see the attached current floorplan. Need suggestions on what's the best way to do… 0 7338 that will depend on the kitchen bench depth. you'll have to specify it so it allows for both the tap and the sink 1 7394 7 5139 |
