I would like to switch my over-the-stove microwave over to vent up instead of back into the room. I get how to do this with unit, but installing the vent is not something I'm so sure of, so I thought I would ask for advice here. A couple of questions:
The vent is rectangular, I assume I can get this duct work at a heating/airconditioning supply shop? Does Home Depot carry this sort of thing?
Do I need to vent all the way out to the roof or can I just vent it to the attic? The attic is well ventilated and we never use it. I don't think we'll have a lot of moisture in what we vent.. mostly it will be smoke from the stove when something burns.
If I do have to vent all the way to the roof, what kind of duct work do you use to go from the rectangular vent work from the micro to something circular through to the roof?
I have to cut through cabinets. Is it ok to just use a scroll saw to cut out the opening in the bottom and top of the cabinet for the vent?
Thanks in advance for the help!
