Hi All,
I am new to this forum ( to forum's in general ) and stumbled upon this forum thanks to Google. I am hoping someone is able to assist me with a breakfast bar query.
We have just purchased our first home and will be replacing the kitchen as the current one is over 30 years old and while it has stood the test of time it is NOT functional at all ( There is no room for our fridge in the kitchen and we have had to leave the fridge in a corner of the room approx 6 meters away from everything else). Anyway as well as a kitchen that has space for our fridge, We are wanting a breakfast bar that sits on the end of a cabinet on one end and on a Waterfall on the other end ( making our U shaped kitchen into a G shaped one) The cabinet maker we went to said that a 40mm Waterfall will need more support that just a 600mm cabinet on one end and the only way i could have my breakfast bar was to have a supporting beam in the middle. Is this true? My Breakfast bar will only be 1300 mm away from the cabinet ( making it 1900mm in length).
I have seen numerous pictures with the look i am after and am willing to increase the thickness of the bar to 80mm if it means i have what i want. You can see a picture of the concept i am after in the attached link ( The first picture clearly demonstrates what i want)

Thank you so much for your help in advance.
