Do you pay extra for this two tone effect if building a prestige home? Thanks, Calida Re: Porter Davis kitchens 85Mar 12, 2012 10:24 pm I don't think so Calida. We chose all white but we could have chosen anything. Even the kickboards could have been different colours.. Porter Davis kitchens 86Mar 13, 2012 7:09 am No you don't have to pay extra to have different colours Sent from my iPhone so please excuse my spelling mist cakes Building the Drysdale 30 Wallara Waters, Wallan My Blog : http://www.ourwallanhome.blogspot.com My thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=50975 Re: Porter Davis kitchens 87Mar 17, 2012 8:37 pm Can anyone tell me if they specifically asked for the shadowline on the kitchen benchtops? We did not and now thinking it looks awful; what is the benefit of it?! We have a stark white/white kitchen so the black shadowline.. hmnz well.. Porter Davis kitchens 88Mar 17, 2012 9:46 pm We didn't ask for it specifically, it was in our promo. We quite like it... our kitchen island is Crystal Gloss Parchment cabinetry with Organic White stone. On the kitchen bench, we have same cabinetry (top and bottom) with Mink stone... This was how the display home was built, and the shadowline looked good... The idea is to create a floating effect Re: Porter Davis kitchens 89Mar 18, 2012 10:45 am thanks for the reply rups; really feels good to feel that someone is out there to ask! just looking at your blog pics which I had done before btw - thanks for that! still unsure in our place - everything else is very neutral toned, in the whole house - so the black line feels very harsh. not sure they will be able to change it without a rigmarol but sure we didnt ask for it. dont midn it in the bathrooms etc but just the kitchen bugging us.. Re: Porter Davis kitchens 90Mar 18, 2012 8:41 pm Hey BB, I knew it was coming as it was in the promo but I specified that the shadowline had to be white.....whether they actually do as they're asked is another matter At first they told me it only came black but after they asked the right people we got the answer we were looking for. I'm sorry I don't know if it's easy to fix if you don't like it. Re: Porter Davis kitchens 91Mar 18, 2012 9:24 pm it may be their issue if we dont like it as we did not specify it and we were not asked for a colour preference at all? it doesnt say anything in our docs about shadowline that i can see. So over mistakes and bad surprises. We would be happy with the bathroom being as is but the kitchen, it just doesn't work for us and as a central part of the house they need to get it right. Re: Porter Davis kitchens 92Mar 19, 2012 8:22 am Really trying to get the hard garden stuff completed in the backyard, dug and laid 15m of bricks, and then dug the other channel (18m odd) for the other side of the yard, then I need to make the 6 bags of concrete to get them laid. Had to work this weekend solo, back to my day job today, so tired Re: Porter Davis kitchens 93Mar 19, 2012 9:22 am thebigbuild it may be their issue if we dont like it as we did not specify it and we were not asked for a colour preference at all? it doesnt say anything in our docs about shadowline that i can see. Is your place Prestige or Lifestyle? I know that it was in the "style republic promo" for Prestige but not sure about Lifestyle. There was no spot for in colour selections to change from black, they just wrote it in the notes. In fact when I initially enquired they told me it should be black as that's how it makes the shadow effect. If you haven't had the opportunity to consider if you even wanted a shadowline then I would definitely be raising the issue. I'd been wondering how you your build was going and by the sounds of it not so good?? Really hope that things start to improve for you soon. Much easier to watch other people build your house than the work afterwards Did you mean to post this in the other thread?? Re: Porter Davis kitchens 94Mar 19, 2012 9:41 am Just so many issues JLD - an issue with a retaining wall required that was not added in the plans, the major brick issue [they have agreed to render but not all of the fault], they installed the wrong basins so we have waited on that, the kitchen is wrong in a few ways, now we realise the niche in the bathroom hasnt been put it - lots of false truths with timing promises. Nevertheless we actually feel like things have been good. It makes a difference when you can talk to your SS like we can and if they had been making errors but delivered as per the verbal guidance we had, that would have been fine. Also a mad year for us personally which is not PD's fault but involved in why things feel messy for us. Anyway! Must catch up on how things are going for you. Re: Porter Davis kitchens 95Mar 20, 2012 9:35 am Sounds like you have a great SS, shame about the problems though! Are they resolving the kitchen the way you want it? Can't wait to see pics of it when you're happy with it Really hope things start to turn around for you guys soon. Re: Porter Davis kitchens 96Mar 21, 2012 8:57 pm YAY SPLASHBACK!!! It is Milton Moon; we thought it would be a bit darker. Its not a pop like most of you.. and it needs our Franke tap, rangehood etc and furniture and kitchenaid to make it right I think. Also there is only one of our special lights over the bench not the full 3 yet; and finally, we have a paint issue so there could be some remote chance that the wall colour will change slightly. Oh not finally, there is also still some of the black shadowline error left, you can vaguely see it at the sides. Theyre working on that. HAHA disclaimer rant over . Re: Porter Davis kitchens 99Apr 14, 2012 11:49 am Oh wow, very provincial, I absolutely love it!! Love your floors, love your wall colour and love love your pendents!! Once your gorgeous tap goes in and the kitchen is "dressed" it will be beautiful. It's exactly the look I'm trying to achieve. When I look at your kitchen, it makes feel warm, peaceful and happy all at the same time! If mine turns out anything like yours I will be over the moon!
