Only deserving that someone gets to sit in the kitchen while I make dinner Re: Barstools 4Jan 31, 2008 7:54 am I've got some from Oz design that I love, but they've been discontinued now.

Look at Freedom. They've got some great bar stools that were included in a kitchen display at the Sydney Home Show. Very nice (and inexpensive). Quote: funky contemporary kitchen barstools Opps missed that bit I think they do not qualify The old barrell bar stools - well I know a guy in the Barrossa - who is a wordworker and artist - and he got carpell tunnel, had the op and his doc said - stop the woodworking. So I bought some of his gear and also cleared out his shed for him. With it came a few - unfinished projects - Lots of fruit bowls, chese platters etc that still need a lot of work to them, as well as 3 or 4 still to finish barstools Maybe I'm just to famililar with the bar stool look from days of my youth - so I'm not yet sure I wan't them in my place A bit like this desing, but made of old wine barrall staves etc. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And believe me - if you threw one of these bar stools. A - you are a very frightening woman being able to lift them, B. expect a very large dent in your concrete floor afterwards. I'll pop up some real pics tonight. Cheers Steve Re: Barstools 10Jan 31, 2008 1:04 pm To be honest ….that stool looks quite comfortable….unlike the ones now!
I bought 2 timber and chrome ones from Freedom, they look great!! But I won’t sit on them, well not for long anyway! I have had some clients who have been OVER the top about their barstools! Spend an absolute fortune on stools, which to me look very ordinary! I don’t understand the BARSTOOL thing/obsession ????? Not you DeeElle….your tame! I just saw a previous thread on barstools that I must have missed.. . I've also found some nice stools at a place called Design Initial in Adelaide & will have a look at Freedom to compare. Cheers Re: Barstools 12Jan 31, 2008 1:22 pm Quote: I don’t understand the BARSTOOL thing/obsession ????? Not an obsession mish. It's just part of the modern cook and chat in the kitchen environment we life in these days. With an island bench kitchen - people can sit at the bench, chat while the cooking is happening, with nibbles etc, then once the food is ready, it tends to move to the dining table after that Steve Re: Barstools 13Jan 31, 2008 1:29 pm Steve I understand all that …….my motto is “The kitchen is the hub of the home!”
And must be made comfortable…..but if you could be around some of these young girls carrying on about their barstools……you would understand! It takes all my strength to shut my mouth from telling them there are other areas of their home that need MORE attention than the BARSTOOL! Back to barstools. Steve you must be very talented to be able to create something like those barstools. Not particularly contemporary mind ... but still nice. And if I threw one of them at M, I would frighten myself Mish ... I didn't know that barstools have become the new 'thing'. I seem to be like that ... unknowingly following all the b****** trends : . I found a couple of stools today ... they cost about $250 each which I think is overpriced so I will keep looking. Also checked out Freedom but there wasn't much there that inspired. I can't be bothered spending hours on stools ( ) so will probably buy him a bottle of bourbon and cigars (he'd appreciate that more anyway ) Re: Barstools 20Feb 01, 2008 12:41 pm Quote: I can't be bothered spending hours on stools ( ) so will probably buy him a bottle of bourbon and cigars (he'd appreciate that more anyway ) It won't matter how uncomfortable they are To the Mod What happeend to my pic I posted last night? |
