Hi Steph, I have to decide the handles vertical/horizontal too. My Timplelle Kitchen sales also warned me about that horizontal handles too. I couldn't imagine how the horizontal will damage the paintwork and door very quickly. Anyone can tell me ? Thanks. I'm really new to this building house and kitchen thing.... I've been looking at lots of kitchen's handles lately, and 80% are using horizontal. Think I was told that as we wanted very square shaped handles that would have quite sharpish edges to them. Either way we went with horizontal draws and vertical cupboards and actually really happy with them. Re: Cupboard/Drawers Handles,Vertical or Horizontal??? 29Nov 28, 2011 10:17 pm Oh great Steph! Thanks. Re: Cupboard/Drawers Handles,Vertical or Horizontal??? 30Jun 22, 2012 12:27 pm I wanted horizontal on all but our cabinet maker recommended horizontal for drawers only and vertical for cupboard doors. I hope it will look okay! I was happy to listen to his suggestions! Renovating our 1970s home Re: Cupboard/Drawers Handles,Vertical or Horizontal??? 31Jan 24, 2020 6:54 am emeri I went all horizontal. The photo from the Caesarstone website is THE kitchen that inspired me to do what I did. I took it with me to EVERY meeting! http://s1181.photobucket.com/albums/x43 ... G_8812.jpg All my handles were horizontal and centred. ONE warning though. The kitchen designer knew (and didn't tell me!! AAAGH!!) that horizontal handles make opening small cupboards almost impossible. I have two teeny tiny cupboards in my kitchen. And when the handles went on, the doors wouldn't open. I demanded the two teeny tiny cupboard doors be remade with push catch closers. And now they work fine. Cheerio! Hi Everyone , I am just new and I am having a kitchen facelift at the moment meaning all the kitchen fronts are being changed but the insides of the cupboards are still okay Plus new sink and bench top and oven , microwave plus . I never really had time to discuss about the cupboard handles or the way they should go on as the Joiner said it was the last thing to be put on and I naturally thought they would be horizontal .I was away all day when the team started fixing the kitchen so saw it when I came home .The first thing I saw was the vertical handles on the doors . Six were done . I think they look terrible . I rang the joiner straight away and he said I should have said horizontal as they are all usually vertical on the doos unless especially asked . Well I never thought much about that . I know now . It is going to cost me more as he said they will have to be replaced ( doors ) and these ones dumped . I said so be it as I want conformity . All the handles to flow .all the same way . I will know if I ever have to do this again . . I don’t think he was a happy chappie . I now have to wait two weeks for the doors to be changed or six of them . Maybe gonna cost me more too . Just make sure you get asked all these questions when renovating . Electrical just got back to me and said the most they can provide is a single power point on the Bedroom 1 side of that wall. After handover, your towel rail installer… 2 3837 |
