Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Aug 30, 2011 7:53 pm Hi All, Currently the spec of the house we are building has a simple Clarke 1.75 bowl top mount. I have looked through the Clarke range and do not see anything that grabs me. I would like a top mount rather than undermount. Previously we have had Oliveri and that was ok but wanted opinions. Budget wise I dont really want to shell out 2-3K for Blanco or Franke but wanted suggestions on others. Have seen this one -->> http://www.thestonesuperstore.com/shop/ ... mount-sink and got to thinking what is the main diffs between this and the branded ones. Also for sound deadening, is it possible to spay the underside with some treatment prior to install. I think design wise I do not need a drain and it should be top mount. I am doing the build planing remotely from SIngpaore and I cannot believe the differential in prices between Singapore and Australia. RRP on the vanity we are looking at is AUD367 in Australia versus AUD150 in Singapore, I didn't expect such a difference on Aussie made stuff Cheers and thanks in advance for your suggestions. Oh yes, I am in no way connected to the site selling the sinks but if anyone has one I would value the feedback. Mark Re: Kitchen Sink Decisions - Comments Suggestions Pls 2Sep 01, 2011 10:03 am Hi Mark The kitchen company who did our kitchen removal and rebuild sold us a Franke Aurora PFX620B sink and tap package for just over $700 including GST. I love, love, love my sink. It is so much larger than the one bowl plus a half bowl sink I had previously. Which was just a waste of space. This one is called an undermount but it isn't an undermount in the traditional sense as it is dropped into one space whereas a 'normal' undermount is one or two bowls only visible in separate cut outs. I just Googled the sink model and it came up on some big hardware/kitchen appliance sites. I'm in Brisbane and got mine from a Brisbane supplier but the Google search has brought up that model in other cities. If you want me to send you some of the links I just found where this sink is at a price cheaper than we paid earlier in the year, send me a private message. Cheerio! Re: Kitchen Sink Decisions - Comments Suggestions Pls 3Sep 02, 2011 1:17 am Thanks for the reply. I have since range the supplier and found that the sinks are fully insulated. Just need to see the product in a couple of weeks to decide. If anyone has used these I would love to hear about it.
