Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Aug 26, 2011 1:34 am Hi All, Trying my best to post pics of what I am thinking of, couldnt get photobucket to upload with firefox...... I am sure its me. Anyway the layout is sort a like the letter C with dimesnions of 2100 along back wall near pantry door then 3600 along the wall where the cooker will be and then 3600 across where sink and breakky bar will be. All benches will be 600 deep except brekky bit that will prob be 1000. What are your thoughts on this over the breakfast bar part. They are almost 1000 wide so maybe 2. The ceiling is 2914. http://www.beaconshop.com.au/index.php? ... t&Itemid=1 Sorry mods if not allowed to post links to sellers, I am not affiliated with them in any way shape or form. Just not computer savy enough to work out how to do it properly. Thanks in advance. I thought I had it all worked out until I found this site. Mark Re: Pendant Lights over breakfast bar/ island 2Aug 26, 2011 6:32 am I think the ceiling height and the length of the bb will carry them ok. do you love them? if so go for it ($1000 for 2 though..eeek) Re: Pendant Lights over breakfast bar/ island 3Aug 26, 2011 8:54 am A friend had one of these above her dining table (which was about 1800mm long). If you are wanting it to throw light for a work surface then they are not that good-however, if they are purely for bling, then they are very eye catching! I guess as a guy I am not so sure about all of this. Need to see them, just as its my first house build I dont want to look too industrial or have lights that will date real fast. Its all very new to me.... Will have to start a build thread but am waiting for the plans to be finalised. Cheers Mark Re: Pendant Lights over breakfast bar/ island 5Aug 26, 2011 11:22 am They are nice to look at however remember to clean them they may become a pain in the butt! Even though my cooker is no where near my pendants it is amazing how much grime seems to float around kitchens. My pendants are just single ones (three in total) and are glass on a solid chrome rod. I can easily unscrew the glass and wash in the sink, then wipe the rods down with a damp cloth. Just a thought from someone who despises extra cleaning LOL. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Pendant Lights over breakfast bar/ island 6Aug 26, 2011 9:09 pm hi Kyton, I agree cleaning wise. I think the indoor kitchen will be used on a limited basis as my wife is Malaysian and cooks a lot of Asian food, for that reason and the fact I also like cooking outside (European heritage) we will have some sort of commercial cooking set up in the undercover alfresco. I am leaning towards the Goldstein 4 burner cook-top presently with a big exhaust fan. Indoor will be some limited simple cooking, we didn't ever use our indoor stove for anything in our condo actually. This is another issue, do I shell out and pay for upgrades from Westinghouse oven, cooker and hood and get Bosch or stick with functional. I am leaning towards the upgrade purely for the potential resale and aesthetics. I live in Singapore now and will go out on the weekend and look at whats available locally as the market will be bigger than Perth so prices should be better. This site is a real problem because just when I think I know what I want I see another magic build and want to incorporate. Once i have plans I will post. cheers Mark Please suggest a solid quality swivel bar towel holder in bathrooms & bedrooms from… 0 3122 DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair Are you going to have the frame exposed or are you cladding it with something.
