Re: What's best granite or ceasarstone?? 2Aug 15, 2011 8:43 am living with mum at the moment and she's recently had her kitchen renovated.. had caesarstone benchtops installed and couldnt be happier.. having said that, there are a couple of scratches on it after about 3 or 4 yrs of use... however, you need to be looking straight at it to notice it.. it all cames down to colour choice.. being a white caesarstone, and minor scratches are very well hidden in the vast whiteness... were it a dark benchtop, things might be different.. cant give my opinion on granite, as the last time we had granite benches i was 14 and had "other" things on my mind Re: What's best granite or ceasarstone?? 4Aug 15, 2011 8:52 am Colour choice played a big part in my decision. I wanted mostly white this time as I had black granite in my last house. 13 years with black granite and no complaints. White CStone for the past two years and no complaints, you do have to watch curries and wipe things down quickly on the white though. I have no scratch marks either, not that I can see anyway. Re: What's best granite or ceasarstone?? 5Aug 15, 2011 9:02 am Just found this really good discussion also... http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=1235 Cheers Dan Re: What's best granite or ceasarstone?? 6Aug 15, 2011 10:45 am We have granite and love it but I've never had Caesarstone so can't comment as to which is "best". Due to the patterning/veining, granite hides marks/spills so that is a bonus. It is easy to clean, too. I think that with any bench top you choose, you have to treat it with some care to keep it looking its best. Apparently granite will not scratch and you can put hot pots, etc onto it, not that I would do so. We had a granite top on our bathroom vanity and in the 11 yrs we've been here, we never resealed it and it has never stained, even with red hair dyes. We did not realise we had to re-seal it. Also, granite is not likely to date like Caesarstone due to the colours being "trends" but it really comes down to choice and what you like the look of. Re: What's best granite or ceasarstone?? 7Aug 15, 2011 3:38 pm I like both, but granite has a depth to it that you just cannot get with man made products. Both can scratch but natural granite is pretty tough. Caesar stone can and does stain in the lighter colours, but they do have heaps of colour choices, when I do my kitchen I will probably go with Caesar stone or quantum quartz, puely on cost. Id say don't go with 'cheap' granite tho, if you want cheap have a look at granite transformations, there stuff is very similar to Caesar stone but thinner, and must be laid over a substrate. I fitted that stuff for years, no comparison to natural granite though. 0 9804 Hi, I'd like some advice on the best option please on the estimate options we've been provided from our builder.
