Re: Caesarstone benchtop quote 5Aug 12, 2011 11:18 am What thickness and will the waterfalls be mitred? Waterfalls take alot of extra time and cost more. They do look great though! Caesarstone is only available in 20mm and limited 30mm. Any other thickness is either doubled up or mitred. With a 60mm top everything would be fully mitred. I am assuming you have an island unit and the top would over hang between 250-300mm. Remember that the caesarstone needs to be returned back into the overhang on both waterfalls and the underside of the top. This adds alot of caesarstone and labour to the cost and would be one of the reasons your top is so expensive. I would say the quote is about right. You could drop $1800 of you quote easily with a few changes! It wouldnt look as good though. There are quite a few forum members whose c'stone has not been returned back. The front of their benches are simply a mitred front - and you can see the substrate underneath when looking up. Mine stonemason did "box" in my benches - we have 80mm waterfall and apron - so you can not see any underneath of the stone. Some things are worth waiting for. It doesnt matter so much on the small overhangs (20mm) but on the large overhangs it should return back. Thanks for that. Any chance I could see a photo of yours? Just so I can show it to my stonemason.
