Browse Forums Kitchen Corner Re: My new kitchen nearly finished 3Aug 02, 2011 9:25 pm While I am no expert, I'll offer my opinion. Firstly, your kitchen is just a major WOW. The bench top is just fantastic. And leading on from that, I think a subtle splashback that blends in with the kitchen, rather than standing out would be my choice. With a bench top like that, I wouldn't want anything else drawing the eye away from it. Regards, K. Re: My new kitchen nearly finished 5Aug 02, 2011 9:36 pm I was starting to get worried that no-one liked it as I had no comments until now - I'm not real good at forums. Thank you Kermut and Pattycake for your lovely comments. Yes I agree with subtle. I am having trouble because the dark grey at the bottom is too dark for splashback (and have even tried 1/4 tint of door colour, still too dark). Re: My new kitchen nearly finished 6Aug 02, 2011 9:43 pm I am suprised you have not had lot of comments[H1's must be busy] your bench top is stunning Re: My new kitchen nearly finished 8Aug 02, 2011 10:04 pm I looked at it Earlier on my phone but didn't want to comment til I could actually see bigger pics. It's stunning! The glass is done in Sydney, they are waiting on my colour decision so they can finish it. Re: My new kitchen nearly finished 10Aug 02, 2011 10:09 pm I think silvery colour will be divine! my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: My new kitchen nearly finished 11Aug 02, 2011 10:19 pm I so agree with you Tinkster - I need a silvery colour with no blue in it. Hopefully a silvery/beige colour? Not too dark, but enough colour in it that it doesn't wash out the white.IYKWIM Re: My new kitchen nearly finished 12Aug 10, 2011 3:16 pm Hi, I agree the granite is magnificent, and since that should be your feature, i personaly would go with a mirror spashback to reflect back to the benchtop. I twas just done on The Block, if you want to check out that website. From memory it was Katrina and Amie. Guess you'd either love it or hate it. Re: My new kitchen nearly finished 14Aug 10, 2011 4:15 pm Love the marble benchtop - looks WOWWWWWW!! What about a colour similar to the drawers for your splashback so there's not too much going on to distract the eye? What about a colour similar to the drawers for your splashback so there's not too much going on to distract the eye? Thats what i was thinking. Perhaps 50% of the drawer colour? so its halfway between the brown and the white Re: My new kitchen nearly finished 16Aug 10, 2011 5:56 pm I work with stone benchtops and I can honestly say that you should go with a light color whether it's white or a silvery color but definately stay away from dark colors or red, green and blues.
