Blum, Hafele (grass) and Hettich are all top quality hardware providers and it really comes down to personal preference and what sytem your cabinet maker uses. If you are building with a project builder you probably wont get a choice on which brand of hardware you get, it will simply be whatever the cabinet maker uses. Many of the fittings that Hafele and Hettich supply are exactly the same as they are from Kessebohmer. It all depends what you are trying to install. Is it a corner unit (pull out corner) or a pantry unit our pull out shelving. Some fittings need the cabinet to be constructed to particular dimensions and can't just be added later. I don't know if you have priced the compents you are wanting. They can be very expensive. You may find that your builders price is not as bad as it sounds. And pull out base storage for either side of the oven, about 1k for both with hook in shelves. We get prices from builder today so I will compare Building our own custom design with Redink Pre-start - 28/06/2011 Building license approval - sept 2011 Footings - 8/10/2011 my thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=48921 Re: Blum, Hafele or Ikea 6Jul 02, 2011 1:32 pm Blum, Hafele or Ikea in that order Cant beat Blum, and they do indeed make ikea drawers, but its to the Ikea spec, so its a downgraded version of the Blum. That said, Hettich Innotech softclose drawers should also be considered. Grass Nova Pro's are ok, have used them, but i feel the Blume and Hettich are a better product. Hafele, Cant say anything about them, Hafele are expensive on the rest of their hardware line, so you might as well go Blum. Corner Drawer systems from Blum work ok, we have done a few penthouses and they were ok, you still loose storage space. Re: Blum, Hafele or Ikea 7Jul 02, 2011 4:41 pm Personally I use Hettich. Very good product, haven't used the Blum but everyone says they are very good as well. @Leona. As I mentioned before the Le mans corner units and the pull out pantries are manufactured by Kessebohmer and Blum, Hettich and Hafele are just resellers. If you can get them cheaper from one of them then I'd just go there. If you can get a Le Mans for $600 then you are doing well. Just make sure that your cabinet makers are aware that you will be installing the Le mans units and build the cabinets to suit and that you buy the right sized Lemans to fit what they have built (there are 3 different sizes). There is a bit to installing them so unless you are fairly capable I'd be careful about DIY. They are to expesive to have them not work correctly.
