Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jun 22, 2011 1:32 pm We live in a crap old falling down house, a rental, and I'd love to at least change the taps (to a mixer tap with extension spray) in the kitchen and bathroom. When we do leave here, which could be any time really as it's not up to us, would we be able to easily change the taps back to the originals and take the snazzy new ones with us? Re: Undoing plumbing reno in rental house? 2Jun 22, 2011 3:20 pm You need to add some extra hardware if you want to go from taps to a mixer. I think it would be best to just leave it as is and fit the new stuff "new" in your home. Unless they are like sets (being a regular tap set to a regular tap set) then it would be too much stuffing around. Re: Undoing plumbing reno in rental house? 3Jun 22, 2011 9:23 pm As above, fitting a sink mixer tap might involve a considerable amount of money and effort depending on the current setup. If the current taps and spout come out of the wall above the sink it would be very difficult to change the setup. We ended up installing quarter turn tab spindles in the house we were renting. Nowhere near as good as an extension mixer tap but they were only $20 each and the taps were easy to use and didn't drip anymore.
