I'm thinking of one for our new kitchen because I like the look and they're probably quite cost effective (no fluffing around cutting out templates in the benchtop etc), but if it's a nightmare to keep clean I'm not interested! Any feedback would be welcome  Re: Freestanding ovens / ranges / 'cooking theatres' 2Jan 03, 2008 12:53 pm Welcome to the forum Kanin, we had a Ilve oven in our last place, and we made sure we had it raised off the floor and placed on the kickboards of the kitchen because i would hate to see underneath it with dust and stuff that would collect underneath.
The kitchen co, made sure that the gap between the benchtop and the side of the oven was minimal so that nothing would sit there. Also when you are looking at freestanding ovens, go there and see which ones show the fingerprints...usually it's the manufacturers who use the cheaper grade of stainless. But it can be cleaned easily with rubbing it down with baby oil....that's what i used to bring back the lustre of my stainless appliances. Good Luck.
