I like your idea of having a pull-out rangehood with cupboards the whole way across.. or I was thinking.. My kitchen will be similar to this one, with a cupboard either side of the rangehood.. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Perhaps (not sure how tall you are..) you could have a slim 'cupboard' put in, and install a pull-out spice rack? That's if you'd like to keep the rangehood as a feature.. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Cheers, Jen Built our house, time for decorating! Am trying to get around to updating our blog.... things have been a bit crazy! http://the-story-of-our-house.blogspot.com Re: What would you do with this kitchen design fault 14Apr 08, 2011 2:24 pm I think it would look better without any overhead cupboards - it's only a small space and will look cleaner with it gone. Those wrap around shelves look strange - I can see extra cleaning and banging my ankles on them. Looks strange. Re: What would you do with this kitchen design fault 15Apr 09, 2011 9:01 pm Thanks for the ideas.. definitely not doing those wrap around shelves around the breakfast bar.. waste of space.. knee bangers.. and dust collector... we are thinking now just the bank of cupboards with a hidden rangehood.... just deciding on colours is hard now.. we like a chocolate wood colour for the cupboards.. but thinking a bank across the top would close in a small kitchen... there is a larger scullery behing the kitchen so I am not fussed about storage space we just want this part to look balanced....we are thinking white stone tops with dark bottoms and maybe a red splash back... what do you think??? Re: What would you do with this kitchen design fault 16Apr 10, 2011 9:26 am Check this thread for similar colours to what you mentioned, i think they look prettygood together viewtopic.php?f=31&t=31639&p=691988&hilit=Lisbon#p691988 And, if you search for the "show us your kitchen" thread you'll see great ideas there too. Btw, soonerorlater, I totally love the narrow pullout spice rack, brilliant!
