Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Mar 27, 2011 10:55 pm Hi, have just joined after searching web trying to find products. Trying to fix up kitchen "recently missing husband" never repaired. My kitchen is from the early 1980's, an AV Jennings textured "hessian" doors and drawers and "leather" benchtop all in shades of tan and brown. I have 2 missing drawers and some tired cupboards. As much as I would love to rip them out, I can't and have to try and work with what I have. I was thinking of trying to track down some drawers and then try painting over the laminate. I know this may mean buying a set of "old doors" as it may be difficult trying to get the same textured "hessian" print drawers to match the cupboards. Does anybody know of a place in SR Qld where I can go to search for these type of old products. I have come across plenty of places that seem to sell pieces from old Qlder pieces, but these gems from the 80's don't make the grade. Any help or advice greatly appreciated. These are the places that store and sell all the stuff that comes via the dump truck but which is in still good condition. I've seen whole kitchens in some tip shops. The things people throw out on the extra pick up days is amazing. There is one in Brisbane in Acacia Ridge but I think most big districts have them. Just put Tip Shop and the area and it will come up. Good luck finding them. Any joinery expert, please advise. Is it possible to add drawers in this 750mm wide joinery in a small bathroom.
