Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Mar 27, 2011 10:16 am Hello all, I am a newbie to this forum. I own this 40 year old house for a year and half now w/o much problems (fingers crossed!) However, last week, when my partner was cooking meals as usual, suddenly the glass that sits on top of our electric cooktop cracked throughout ! It was very strange and I wonder if it's the heat which might have done this. The question now is - can I just replace the glass only or do I need to replace the whole thing with new electric plates? Note that after this incident two of the four electric plates don't work any more, but the other two are still working fine. P.S. - Just noticed last night that the crack in the glass in some part has widened further! Any help/suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks!
