Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Feb 25, 2011 11:09 am Hi, I'm just about to make a discission on my kitchen bench tops and was wondering if anyone had installed Quantum Quartz. If so are you happy with the quality of your bench tops? The colour im looking at is "alpine white". Thanks.... Re: Anyone used Quantum Quartz 2Feb 25, 2011 10:30 pm Hi i m also making up my mind what to use on my kitchen benchtop. I have looked at caesarstone and quantum quartz. I have got some samples at home with me but i am so indecisive. Do i go for a light one or go darker. Which one will be easy to live with. I am also wanting to put in a glass splashback. Perhaps we can help oneanother. Re: Anyone used Quantum Quartz 4Feb 26, 2011 7:43 am No difference exactly the same composite materials the problem is some stone installers companies push one brand over the other so that influences people choice especially when it comes to price. Personally I prefer quantum quartz in the premium range. Re: Anyone used Quantum Quartz 5Feb 26, 2011 8:20 pm I went to The Harvey Norman Kitchen Centre today to have a look at their kitchens, i figured if i could see more of the stone then it would really help the decision. I did see a kitchen which i liked. We already have white cupboards in our kitchen, i just want to change the tops and put a new splashback on. The colour of the CS was Walnut and the splashback was a deep red. it all seemed to coordinate nicely. Re: Anyone used Quantum Quartz 6Feb 28, 2011 7:15 am We used Quantum Quartz. It is fine. To the naked eye, no different whatsoever to CS, just depends which colors/patterns you like. We were told that QQ is a bit cheaper to buy than CS but it is so hard to get comparative costs so can't really vouch for that. Just go with whichever one has teh finish you like. Word of warning about a "block" color...exceptionally hard to keep looking clean. We had a block white in our old plaxce and with the new kitchen our first decision was to go with something that had some movement in it because of the cleaning experience with the old one. Re: Anyone used Quantum Quartz 7Feb 28, 2011 7:59 am Thanks Melrich what colour did you go for? My kitchen cabinets are white and i thought going white for the bench top would be a lot of hard work to keep looking clean. I have a lot of bench space to cover. Do you think the walnut colour would be easier? I am so confused about it all because if i am spending 6K on bench top I would want to be certain Im getting the right one. Re: Anyone used Quantum Quartz 10Feb 28, 2011 9:20 pm I have Quantum Quartz 'Everest' in my new home just love the look of it Re: Anyone used Quantum Quartz 11Nov 06, 2012 5:44 pm I am about to put in Everest Quantum Quartz with Tasmanian Oak cupboards. Has anyone seen this combination? Hope I have made the right choice. Love the look of the Everest. We have a colonial house which is why the timber. Re: Anyone used Quantum Quartz 12Nov 06, 2012 7:06 pm Quantum Quartz is the same as CS really, it is just cheaper. I work for a builder and asked the same question to the stone mason we use and that was what I was told. CaesarStone, Quantum Quartz and Silestone have very very similar pricing in there different ranges. Remember all these companies have a standard range and then 2-3 ranges above. The price difference people see is usually when they have chosen a colour in a STD range and on in a premium range! I always wanted a dark colour and have decided on CS Cocoa Fudge. I'd like a red splashback but I'm waiting until after installation to decide because I don't want it to be too dark. 7 more sleeps till installation!
