Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Feb 23, 2011 3:48 pm Hi, I'm wanting to have an all white kitchen in our new house, and dark timber floors... thinking Jarrah. Problem is I can't find a benchtop that is actually 'white' and not grey etc. I was thinking Classic White vinyl wrap gloss doors and was looking at granite transformations for benchtops. Wanting to have approx 50mm - 60mm thickness and waterfall ends. Does anyone have any suggestions or photos of what they have done? Is there a lot of difference between granite transformations and ceasarstone? pros, cons etc. Oh, and if you go for a 'plain' white bench does it show up the dirt / crumbs more? Photos for inspiration would be fantastic!!! Re: All white kitchens 2Feb 23, 2011 4:27 pm There's a thread about all white kitchens here: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=40123 Renovating our 1970s home Re: All white kitchens 3Feb 23, 2011 4:31 pm We have an all white kitchen with redgum timber floors. We went gloss polar white cupboards (Polytec) and Osprey CS benchtops. The benchtop isn't actually pure white, it does have a fleck in it, but still looks white. We were warned away from the stark white CS benchtops and we are really happy with the end product. http://s828.photobucket.com/albums/zz20 ... isy_album/ Re: All white kitchens 4Feb 23, 2011 4:38 pm Hi upsydaisy
Lovely kitchen! Just wondering what sort of side panel you have where your breakfast bar meets the wall (opposite you waterfall edge-hope you know what I mean). Looked at you photos but can't make it out. Re: All white kitchens 5Feb 23, 2011 5:34 pm Hi upsydaisy, your kitchen looks amazing, love the floor it all ties in together.May I ask what colour is your splashback and what kind of glass, thanks Re: All white kitchens 6Feb 24, 2011 9:25 am nerak Hi upsydaisy Lovely kitchen! I am really sorry, but I'm not sure what you mean by the side panel. Do you want me to take a photo? Just let me know which part you mean (e.g. window side near the table?). pattycake4 your kitchen looks amazing, love the floor it all ties in together.May I ask what colour is your splashback and what kind of glass Thank you. It is Dulux Linseed on the clear glass (is that starfire? Never sure). Re: All white kitchens 7Feb 24, 2011 9:47 am upsydaisy nerak Hi upsydaisy Lovely kitchen! Upsydaisy - A freestanding breakfast bar would normally have the waterfall edge running down each end. I would like to see how your breakfast bar meets the wall. Do you have a waterfall edge running down the wall or a panel made of some other material? If you look at the 2nd photo in your link, the area I am interested in is the lower right hand side of the photo - where the breakfast bar meets the wall is just out of view. I have a similar breakfast bar in my plans and my builder is telling me that if I went with the waterfall finish on the open end I would have a polyurethane panel running down the side that meets the wall - so just wondering what others have done. Re: All white kitchens 8Feb 24, 2011 11:01 am I think I know where you mean and have taken another photo for you. Our bench butts up against the wall, so there is just plaster there and a clean join with the back of the bench. http://s828.photobucket.com/albums/zz20 ... isy_album/ Definitely no panel running down the side. HOpe that helps. Re: All white kitchens 9Feb 24, 2011 11:09 am Thanks upsydaisy - that's exactly what I wanted to see. Your arrangement is how I thought it would be built. I'll have to go back to my builder and ask what they meant by putting a panel there - maybe I've got it wrong.
