I can't find a picture now of the kitchen completed - we have been in 2 years but here is one from when it was still in the build stage - difficult to see. I love it, very neutral and goes with everything http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r72/Mias_Mummy/P2232291.jpg[/quote] My karma ran over your dogma Re: White Duck on starfire glass 3Jan 29, 2011 10:03 am Oh thanks haywgl! What are your other colours, ie. benchtop and walls ? Would it be possible to get a really, really large pic please (and an updated one ) and if you have laid floor tiles, if you could show it all together (or separately)? ... whenever you get time, that is ... Re: White Duck (or HALF or QUARTER) on starfire glass 6Jan 29, 2011 11:41 am Oh Lex- I might join you with that request! I'd love to see it completed and with flooring etc.... If that is not too much trouble Haywgl pretty pretty please! I can't decide on the colour of my splashback. Our cupboards are porcelain gloss (an off white colour) We will have 1/2 strength white duck on our walls and I have strongly considered having a full strength white duck splashback. I'm a bit concerned it may blend in too much with the cupboard colours and wall colours .........but then common sense tells me that when I add the flooring and window treatments it should tie in nicely....but it would be great to seen an example where there are floors etc all in place! I have also considered dulux linseed because I thought I might do one wall in that colour too! I think I remember reading in a thread that this was a colour you considered haywgl- What made you decide on white duck instead? (Apologies in advance if I have mixed you up with someone else! ) White Duck (or HALF or QUARTER) on starfire glass 7Jan 29, 2011 12:39 pm Dulux Linseed, now there's a familiar name. In another life, a colour consultant suggested we use that for a feature wall in a hallway. However, we loved it so much, particularly in natural light, that we painted the whole exterior of our weatherboard house in it. And what did we paint on the feature wall? The colour that the consultant suggested for the exterior, of course! I too, look forward to updated pics of the kitchen (I think that's three votes now, talk about pressure!). Re: White Duck (or HALF or QUARTER) on starfire glass 10Jan 29, 2011 8:06 pm Just got home from my brother's house and saw this! Pressure is on! Will take a picture tomorrow and put it online for you all, there is alot of changes. We actually painted around the bulkhead of the kitchen in a dark brown colour Wattyl Donkey and it works wonderfully as a feature and ties in perfectly with the white cupboards and White Duck splashback We have solid timber tassie oak floors, the benchtop is Ice Snow (or is it just called Ice?) and the cupboards are Polar White. Wall colours are Wattyl Flokati. Thanks Kek xx My karma ran over your dogma Re: White Duck (or HALF or QUARTER) on starfire glass 11Jan 29, 2011 8:26 pm Alright lucky for you all I was able to use DH's phone to take some pics - they were taken at night on phone so not the best quality but you get the general idea. First pic with a close up of splashback and so you can see the brown feature bulkhead we painted - was really pleased with how this turned out. Splashback is more grey and the brown paint is a richer darker brown in real life I think the flash has brightened them a bit too much. This is a far away shot so you can see how it all works together - a bit dark but I hope it helps I would say the splashback looks much more blue in these photos than it really is, it is a beautiful grey/green colour in real life and everyone who comes here loves it My karma ran over your dogma Re: White Duck (or HALF or QUARTER) on starfire glass 12Jan 30, 2011 6:03 am Thanks, haywgl! Does this mean that you won't take more pics in daylight with your camera so we can see the colour in the daylight And is that you who has Flokati on the walls (other than the feature wall)? I did just take some pictures - but to be honest it looks pretty much the same as it does in the first pic - no real difference in fact I can't figure out which one is which they are that similar so maybe it is just our camera. Yep Flokati is on the walls My karma ran over your dogma Re: White Duck (or HALF or QUARTER) on starfire glass 15Jan 30, 2011 4:54 pm Thanks so much for sharing the pics Haywgl! I appreciate it. Your feature wall looks very striking. I can relate to what you mean about trying to take a photo that shows what the colour is like in real life. I have tried to take shots of paint colours to try and share with people to get opinions and I just can't get the colours looking true to life. I expect it would be even trickier with a reflective surface like glass! Re: White Duck (or HALF or QUARTER) on starfire glass 16Jan 30, 2011 7:55 pm Thank you so much Haywgl, I really appreciate you going to the effort. Just now I've been examining my samples of Ice Snow, White Duck and Polar White, hoping the combination would work together. You've really helped me feel more sure of things. Need to remove glass panel out of concrete without wrecking the glass to get the spa room in, any recommendations on how to do that. Thank you 0 39024 What do you need them to withstand? If it's normal wear and tear, then either will do, if you want resistance to ingress then laminated would be the favourite, but only… 1 12368 |
