Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jan 25, 2011 9:20 pm For those with fully or semi-integrated dishwashers, is there a kickboard in front of it? If not, does it bother you that it's not there? Re: Is there a kickboard in front of your dishwasher? 3Jan 25, 2011 9:28 pm Thank you suh. Did they warn you that if they need to fix your dishwasher they would rip out the kickboard? Or is this just a myth? Re: Is there a kickboard in front of your dishwasher? 4Jan 25, 2011 9:29 pm Oh I see. It's a separate piece. Nice! Is there a kickboard in front of your dishwasher? 6Jan 26, 2011 6:46 am We made sure we bought a dw with a kickboard. Last house it was just open & many things got lost under there. Re: Is there a kickboard in front of your dishwasher? 7Jan 26, 2011 7:09 am we have one that came with the dishwasher but it doesnt seem to fit it so we have never put it on. its annoying to have the little whole underneath where dust and kids balls get into. ours isn't integrated though. Looks like a separate panel in front of the dishwasher is the way to go Re: Is there a kickboard in front of your dishwasher? 9Jan 26, 2011 10:33 pm If i've got a fully integrated dishwasher, and the builder knows that, do you think i'll get the kickboard as well as the cupboard front? or is it just one more thing i'll have to chase up? my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: Is there a kickboard in front of your dishwasher? 10Jan 27, 2011 8:47 am Fully integrated means just that. It should be installed with a kick board Re: Is there a kickboard in front of your dishwasher? 11Jan 27, 2011 9:22 am i prefer fully integrated as in hidden so it has to have a kicker. I had to trim a little on the top of the kickeron my last kitchen to install it to prevent it hitting the door as it swung open but you couldn't see standing up. Yes you might have to remove the kicker to get to the dishwasher for servicing but most modern installs the kickboard is simple clipped on or screwed through the cabinet on the top its not really used as a support for the cabinets that often anymore. I had the cabinet maker here the other day doing maintenance and he's doing the panel for our semi-integrated and we were trying to figure out how to do the kickboard. He's going to bring it and cut it here so we can get it right, but at least I can show him that pic. He was worried the door panel would keep hitting the kickboard so wasn't sure if it would have to be recessed more than the rest. I am installing a new Bosch SMU4HTS01A built under dushwasher. I have 2 questions. What is the function of the metal strip about 500mm long x 60mm wide the tell you to… 0 2716 Get some long brass machine screws and bolt right through the gate and put brass acorn nuts and washers on the other side.
