Re: buying off ebay connection? 4Jan 23, 2011 9:21 pm When I bought my pin mixer also off eBay a couple of years ago, I was told to look for the Australian Standards watermark. If it doesn't have this watermark then you might have a hard time finding a plumber to install it for you. If it has it, it's all good apparently! I just asked the seller if it had it, they said yes, so I got myself a bargain and my plumber had no issues installing it for me "Your emotions are the slaves to your thoughts, and you are the slave to your emotions." — Elizabeth Gilbert Living in our new house. There are several outlets like this mob http://www.renovationboys.com.au/ or Reece, or Tradelink, even (gulp) Harvey Norman, where you can find a selection down to $100 for reasonable quality. I believe it helps to look at and handle mixers when selecting. We tested several that were uncomfortable to hold. Re: buying off ebay connection? 7Jan 24, 2011 12:00 pm I bought some Hansa taps from Germany and the fittings are smaller than the Australian ones so i needed to buy some adaptors from Bunnings to make them fit. And yes, check to see if they have Australian Watermark and WELS approvals or your plumber may not install them and insurance companies won't cover if your house is flooded because of the tap. Re: buying off ebay connection? 8Jan 24, 2011 12:03 pm I have almost the exact one. The only thing I would say is it is overkill for a normal sized sink. They are quite hard to control - tend to splash everywhere unless you have the lightest touch. My mother / MIL / sisters all hate mine with a passion as they cannot control the sprayer. I bought it because my actual sink is close to 1.5m in length - I have three bowls so needed a hose that would reach all three bowls. I have a different style of tap ready in storage for the day I get sick of the overspray! Some things are worth waiting for. Re: buying off ebay connection? 9Feb 05, 2011 5:09 pm Hi Jaeger, I was just wondering, are you happy with your Hansa taps? And were the fittings you needed to buy for them expensive? (Did you happen to buy from an ebay seller who I think may import from Germany and on-sell?) Thanks, Pippi 3 48393 Hi all I'm currently building a duplex in Sydney and we need to do a new water connection to the second unit.
