A laminated benchtop is not stuck to a substrate like stone but just sits on top removal of the old should be breaking it off from its side and pull it out unless you got it sitting below some other feature like glass splashback or something. Laminex brand tends to more $$ anyway also Diamond gloss finish is extra as are a good portion of the Laminex timber look and metal look finishes. FWIW Laminex is one of the more expensive brands of laminated bench. We put some over head cupboards in our house about 12 months ago (and now the house is being knocked down LOL) and Laminex would have costed an extra $300 for doors instead of the ones we chose.
