I'm beginning to assemble and install a flatpack kitchen, and don't know if it's ok to install a laminate floating floor (like from Bunnings) before the cabinets. I dont really like the look of beading at the kickboards/floor join.. and would prefer to just lay the floor first and place the cabinets over the top. But will this cause problems re contaction.expansion? Can this crack the benchtop? The cabinets will sit on legs, which I believe helps buffer from any small shifting. Not sure though since I'm no expert.. and I keep getting a variety of mixed messages from different tradies. I've been contemplating putting in a floating floor over it but it never occurred to me the floating floor might let water in. I'd better get on with repairing the parquetry I guess.
