The fridge is in the pantry so we weren't sure what we'd do overhead. I know everyone says it's a PITA to pull the fridge out to change the filter thing, but I reckon it's a good time to clean under the fridge at the same time. Something that never gets done otherwise. We don't use ours yet.... haven't got a fridge with water. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Where is your fridge water point located? 4Dec 20, 2010 1:44 pm Bagheera, is your fridge taller than 1850? Or can the hose/water point be seen in between the fridge and cupboard on top? Re: Where is your fridge water point located? 5Dec 20, 2010 1:54 pm The waterpoint is at 1850mm so it's hidden, the fridge cavity is 1800mm high - fridge is under 1800mm Because of the depth of the fridge and fridge enclosure and the overheads you will not be able to see the hose anyway Preliminary agreement 23/11 Contract 22/03 Prestart 06/04 - finalised on 30/04 Unconditional approval 10/05 Demolition 05/07 Slab 26/08 Brickwork 13/09-06/10 Roof frame started 07/10 viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32292 Re: Where is your fridge water point located? 6Dec 20, 2010 2:15 pm ours is at about 1900mm or so behind the overhead cupboards.. you can see the hose if you look between the gap in the fridge and overhead cupboard but not something you notice unless you look for it.. it is a very thin hose.. plus our fridge the filter is underneath the fridge at the front, so you don't need to pull it out to replace it.. mine has said to replace the filter for the last 3 months but the water tastes fine, so I'm thinking of just taking out the filter and not using one. Melbourne water is pretty good anyway. Re: Where is your fridge water point located? 8Dec 20, 2010 2:33 pm Ours is behind a drawer near the fridge compartment. It's not being used as we haven't yet brought a fancy fridge. Re: Where is your fridge water point located? 9Dec 20, 2010 3:02 pm Helyn I dont have a water point for my fridge: never drink mains water anyway - just rainwater unfiltered directly from the tank after seeing the crap that builds up in our gutters, I don't think I would be game to drink tank water.. Re: Where is your fridge water point located? 10Dec 20, 2010 5:24 pm Ours is down near the floor, I would guess at about 200mm or so. The water filter is in the overhead cupboard. There's even a hole drilled so you can reach through the cupboard to turn the water off when clenaing/replacing the water filter (this way the fridge never has to be moved out). Demolition August 2009, Construction Started September 2009, Completed December 2010 Re: Where is your fridge water point located? 12Dec 20, 2010 8:34 pm Mine is around 40cm off the ground however the filter is then in the walk in pantry behind the fridge. We have two massive F&P fridges joined together (just haven't gotten around to installing the surround kit) so we would not be able to change the filter each year easily. Plus we have drawers next to the fridges = which means no filter install there either (in our previous house we had a cupboard that the filter was installed in which was easy to change). So the easiest place for our filter was in the pantry behind. I was pretty proud of myself for thinking of that one - no one else including DH, my father or the F&P could come up with an easy solution LOL. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Where is your fridge water point located? 13Dec 21, 2010 4:26 pm Thanks all! I thought there may have been a reason why my plumber put the water point so high up. LOL I had a similar issue with my fridge not too long ago. It wasn't the same model, but the symptoms were pretty much the same: the compressor would start and then stop… 3 5200 Building Standards; Getting It Right!
