Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Dec 09, 2010 11:19 am I'm wondering if anyone can comment on dark coloured, or black, caesarstone? I currently have red granite in my old home, and while it looks lovely, it's a pain to clean. It always has a haze on it unless you polished it really hard with a soft cloth. So I wanted to know if this same issue exists with dark coloured caesarstone. Originally I had planned to go neutral tones in the kitchen, but am toying with the idea of black and white with metallic effects, but don't want to have the same hazing on the benchtops that I have with the red granite. normette Building a Firstyle, Oran 30 aka THE BIG 'O' Re: Dark Coloured Caesarstone 2Dec 09, 2010 11:45 am We have "Zulu" Caserstone, easy to clean. Wouldn't change it for anything. http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac165/aaron4erin/uploadkitchenDSC_0947.jpg http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac165/aaron4erin/uploadkitchenDSC_0946.jpg http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac165/aaron4erin/uploadkitchenDSC_0939.jpg http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac165/aaron4erin/uploadkitchenDSC_0937.jpg http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac165/aaron4erin/uploadkitchenDSC_0929.jpg http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac165/aaron4erin/uploadkitchenDSC_0925.jpg http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac165/aaron4erin/uploadkitchenDSC_0923.jpg http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac165/aaron4erin/uploadkitchenDSC_0914.jpg http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac165/aaron4erin/uploadkitchenDSC_0913.jpg http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac165/aaron4erin/uploadkitchenDSC_0909.jpg http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac165/aaron4erin/uploadkitchenDSC_0916.jpg http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac165/aaron4erin/uploadkitchenDSC_0915.jpg http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac165/aaron4erin/uploadkitchenDSC_0951.jpg Re: Dark Coloured Caesarstone 3Dec 09, 2010 11:56 am Erin, a truly stunning kitchen. Love the red accents (I'm a red fan as you can probably tell by me having a red granite benchtop)!! That rangehood and cooktop are great - what brand are they? normette Building a Firstyle, Oran 30 aka THE BIG 'O' Re: Dark Coloured Caesarstone 4Dec 09, 2010 12:06 pm normette Erin, a truly stunning kitchen. But I have to err on the side of caution with the dark. All my dark benches have had the film as you described. My current white/grey granite gets the film also as did my white ceasar stone I previously had. Its hard to see because of the white but when I view from different directions I can see it. This is from being wipped over with a soapy dishcloth. I wont ever go dark benchtops again - especially now that I have 3 kids and dont have the time to be worrying about polishing my benches Hi All, I am looking to go with tiles instead of laminate timber flooring throughout my living areas for my new build (Ashbury 29 - Henley).
