Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Nov 09, 2010 11:34 am Another topic has just made me realize something. We currently have a beech laminate kitchen with tiled floor. As part of our extension we are going to continue the floorboards through to the kitchen as we have had no end of problems with the current tiles. Our kitchen is not changing with the extension other than adding on to the bench a bit so changing the cupboards isn't an option. Is this going to look funny? The floors are Vic Ash or Tassie oak (can never remember). I do need to replace the kickboards for part of the kitchen since we had to replace the dishwasher so is there a different type of kickboard I could look into to break it up. I am not colour co-ordinated at all! Our appliances are white. Here is a pic of the kitchen http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q89/ ... 1Small.jpg http://s134.photobucket.com/albums/q89/ ... =floor.jpg Thanks in advance Donna Re: will my existing kitchen match the new floorboards? 2Nov 09, 2010 2:24 pm I'm sure you won't be the first person with timber floors & a timber kitchen, but it's not something that I would do. If you want to break it up with a kickboard I think using the same dark grey as your benchtop will work well. Re: will my existing kitchen match the new floorboards? 3Nov 09, 2010 3:52 pm We have the same coloured cupboards in the kitchen with floorboards similar to yours and I've never had a problem with them matching or not matching. They just work ok. A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands.
