Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Nov 05, 2010 1:37 pm I would like 2 ovens but having trouble fitting it in. I'm not too disappointed if I can only have 1, but 2 would be nice. I'm not quite sure how it will look if the appliances are stacked above eachother or what heights they should be or how the surrounding cupboards should go. They can fit 4 wide if the microwave goes where the appliance cupboard is shown, i'm not sure how difficult it would be to use if it were tucked away in there? Would appreciate opinions and suggestions, thanks. Or, put one oven under the hotplate, and another stakced with the other stuff?? Sorry, that might not be helpful at all but my brains a little frazzled my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: Poll for 3 kitchen layouts 3Nov 05, 2010 10:32 pm Silly phone, made a large reply and it disappeared/ I would walk so many meters between pantry and benchtop, plus the microwave will be integrated. Did look at putting a 90cm under the stove but that would only leave me 4 drawers (2 either side) which isn't enough reachable storage space for me, I have a restaurant plus worth of equipment. Thanks for the ideas though much appreciated. Injustbreqd the automatic coffee machines are average quality so another idea would be to remove appliance cupboard and put a standalone coffee machine there which makes room for the double oven, but I still think I like the convenience of the auto machine, got to be no worse than a basic kettle style coffee. Re: Poll for 3 kitchen layouts 4Nov 06, 2010 12:37 am what about 2x2 appliances and have the other as a tall cubboard? Recently moved to a 60's home in need of some improvement! http://s797.photobucket.com/user/leenii ... ch%20House Old house: http://s797.photobucket.com/albums/yy25 ... loo/House/ Re: Poll for 3 kitchen layouts 6Nov 06, 2010 8:46 am I saw a kitchen in a magazine which had two ovens one above each other on the side closest to a bench (for putting hot items onto) and then to the left of that, it had the built in coffee machine on top and the microwave underneath. They had cupboards above and drawers below for baking trays and cookie tins etc. I currently have my built in microwave on top of my oven which is set only one drawer above the ground because I personally think its dangerous to have the microwave too high especially since I steam rice and vegetables in it (and was worried about bringing hot water towards my face). It works really well for us. Re: Poll for 3 kitchen layouts 7Nov 06, 2010 1:06 pm Hi Mrs Green, I personally would prefer to have 3 straight across, or 4 straight across. Have you seen Moogles kitchen? Similar to that... Re: Poll for 3 kitchen layouts 8Nov 06, 2010 1:11 pm Yes, I've been in touch with Moogles a lot, her kitchen has been my inspiration. I tried to do the detached appliance wall much the same as hers (but smaller) but it just wouldn't fit. I think i've decided (for a few hours anyway, I change it regularly) on 2 ovens and a microwave across, then will leave the benchspace in the corner open and put a standalone coffee machine there. No one has had many suggestions for me, so thankyou for agreeing with 1 of my million and one ideas Re: Poll for 3 kitchen layouts 11Nov 06, 2010 6:56 pm MrsGreen Thankyou!!!!! No one has had many suggestions for me, so thankyou for agreeing with 1 of my million and one ideas Your welcome Mrs Green! It just makes sense... at least you can hide your coffee machine if you haven't had a chance to clean up if guests were to come over and the microwave you would only need to give it the once over the front... Re: Poll for 3 kitchen layouts 12Nov 06, 2010 7:11 pm Oh you would leave the roller door thingo there for the coffee machine? I was thinking of just removing it and leaving it open (which a good quality coffee machine)? Only because I never liked the idea of a roller door in the first place but then I found some that didn't look as bad as what i'd had in my mind. Re: Poll for 3 kitchen layouts 13Nov 06, 2010 7:22 pm I think the roller door thingies are ugly... (I mean pick it up and pull it away in the pantry ) Re: Poll for 3 kitchen layouts 14Nov 06, 2010 7:39 pm MrsGreen Yes, I've been in touch with Moogles a lot, her kitchen has been my inspiration. Now i'm starting on the pool size/placement...... (there is heaps more to do inside but I need a break) I never realised how hard these decisions are, I thought I had it all worked out in my head before we even found a plan! Now it seems for every decision there is also a compromise?!? Re: Poll for 3 kitchen layouts 16Nov 07, 2010 4:17 pm Just another thought......... if I may..... How often do you use your microwave? Because you could go with the two ovens and coffee machine option, all integrated and have your microwave plugged in, in a cupboard or on the bottom shelf of the pantry.... We have ours in one of the cupboards above our oven and works well for the few times we use it, and we are so glad to have the additional oven which gets 20x more use than our microwave does...... BUT in saying that I do like the above suggestions to have the 2 ovens and microwave... esp if you do have the space for a stand alone coffee unit Building on the Sunshine Coast - Land settled 22nd July 2009 Building contract finally signed (after much deliberation on our part) 11th November 2009 Building commences 25th January 2010 - small local builder End of June - almost completed fit out 26th July - MOVE IN DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Re: Poll for 3 kitchen layouts 18Nov 07, 2010 5:13 pm MrsGreen Hmmm yes that's an option too, esp for how much it costs. If it's cheaper to get built in coffee machine then go for that option... but if the built microwave is cheaper than just get a standalone coffee machine... Re: Poll for 3 kitchen layouts 20Nov 07, 2010 7:52 pm MrsGreen Maybe I'll get 3 ovens, hide the microwave and get a standalone ROFLMAO. I think I'll have to research a suitable machine then make a decision. Back away from the appliances Mrs Green......... Can't wait to hear what you do decide upon though!!! AND even more so - too see those baby's in place!
