Hi,
Just after a bit of advice.
I am currently building a PD Regent 23 at Doreen. I had an inspection last week and all is nearly done except the tiling, carpet and final electrical etc, so about 6 weeks until handover.
When I made my selections I chose a really pale grey (almost off white) cupboard door for my kitchen and caesarstone benchtop, ice snow (also pale white). I am really happy with these colours and everything looks great except one thing.
I opted to have the shadow line for kitchen and bathrooms which looks really ordinary. There was no choice on colour for the shadow line and i assumed it would be the same colour as the doors. It isn't- its black!! It looks so bad, especially on the overhang for my island bench, you can see the black comes out with the overhang and just ends a few centimetres before the caesarstone!
I spoke to my SS who said he would have thought it would be the same colour as my doors, but then spoke to CSC who said it is always black and at this late stage it would be too late to UPGRADE!! I dont want an upgrade, I just want it to be the colour I thought it would be.
So I told her all this, what the SS said and all the pictures I have seen of other shadow lines and why I was assuming it would be the same as my doors. I explained to her if I had have known I would never have chosen the shadow line, as it defeated the pale selections I have made. She said she would get back to me (a few days ago) but still hasn't.
I am wondering how much I should push this. Do I really stick to my guns and say it needs to be fixed?? (Couldn't they re-cover it with laminex- without pulling it all out?) Or do I just suck it up, and stare at it everyday knowing I am not happy with it?
Sorry for the long post, I am starting to lose a bit of sleep about it, and I figure the longer it takes her to get back to me means it is not good news.
Cheers
