Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Oct 06, 2010 1:41 pm I am planning an all white kitchen but thought I would do the island in a contrasting/feature laminate just to break it up a bit. I would like a woodgrain style, and was wondering what would look good up against the spotted gum flooring. We are having brushed aluminium kickboards. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks. I think you'll need to go with something plain Re: Laminate that goes well with spotted gum flooring? 3Oct 06, 2010 3:26 pm We are going to have spotted gum floors and Madagascar panel on the back of the island bar and oven tower. There is a sample of it on my thread. Pge 1or 2, I think. They won't match but I don't really see it as a problem. The rest of the kitchen is white cupboards and a black caesar stone on back bench and a white on on the island bar. A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands. We are having burnished wood island and the wall underbench cupboards will be paperbark......so not white. I will be leaving the flooring until its all in so I can take some samples and lay it down to see how it all looks. I honestly dont think it will look funny if this is the kind of wood laminate you mean Re: Laminate that goes well with spotted gum flooring? 5Oct 06, 2010 8:40 pm Thanks for those ideas, both would look OK I think. Because the spotted gum has such variations in colour between boards I think it will go with alot of different looks. That paperbark is a really nice colour also. Maybe a solid grey/green would look good for the bottom of the island also??
