Not all burner parts are dishwasher safe your manual will say which ones are and aren't. Years ago when I lived in London I had a cleaner who put the burners in the dishwasher, sure they looked good, but after about a year one of them was stuffed and had to be replaced as a direct result of their weekly wash in the dishwasher. They protrude through the top of the cooktop near the burners. One is for auto ignition, the other is a thermocouple. Dont over enthusiastically wet them or use harsh cleaning products on them.
