Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Sep 23, 2007 11:56 am I was looking at some stainless steel kitchen sinks the other day and was impressed. Lots of design etc etc.
A little further on from the stainless steel kitchen sinks were stainless steel laundry sinks. These weren't just the old wobbly thin-sheet metal units of years ago, but nicely styled heavy units. What really caught my attention was the price difference. A very large stainless steel laundry sink was maybe one-third the price of the equivalent kitchen unit. And I couldn't spot any obvious differences in the metal or quality of finish. It made me wonder whether a large part of the kitchen sink cost was the word 'kitchen', and that the laundry sinks were more realistically priced because people aren't prepared to pay a prestige premium for laundry sinks... Anyone know anything about this ? I'm really tempted to put 'laundry' sinks in my kitchen Re: Same sinks - huge price difference 2Sep 23, 2007 6:27 pm Cabinfever I was looking at some stainless steel kitchen sinks the other day and was impressed. I'm really tempted to put 'laundry' sinks in my kitchen That wouldnt suprise me if they are more expensive just because of it being a "kitchen" sink sounds like putting the word "wedding" in front of anything wonder how much it costs if its a "wedding kitchen sink". Im with you deck the house out with laundry sinks from now on Hi, We're building a double-storey in Perth and I'm undecided with the kitchen sink situation.
