Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Feb 27, 2006 7:09 pm Hi,
This is my first post. I am after some highly recommended (but reasonably priced ) cabinet maker(s) to complete our kitchen. We were with some kitchen manufacturing company but unfortunately they went bankrupt and the only thing we have now is the Blackwood doors that have been produced. Because of our situation, the likes of Impala etc don’t want anything to do with the job since the doors have been produced, design plans created etc … they want the job from the beginning, thus I suppose a cabbie is my only option now? I am situated in Melbourne and was suggested Fairmont Cabinets in North Fitzroy (St. George street) as a good cabinet maker however his show room is currently under renovation itself and I am not sure of their workmanship as I can not see this until they complete their renovations. Has anyone heard any negatives/positives regarding this cabbie or if they can recommend someone else in the Melbourne area (situated in Thornbury - 3071). Thank you all for your responses in advance. Cheers. Re: Highly recommended cabbie in Melbourne wanted. 2Sep 16, 2007 2:39 pm Hi all,
Thought I would provide an update with regards to our kitchen. After visiting with Ian, the director of Fairmont Cabinets, we knew straight away that his company would be the most ideal to meet our fussy needs. Ian and his team were very professional throughout the entire project and were always receptive to our requirements and views. We were able to achieve certain elements of the construction that would not be possible by other cabinet firms simply because Ian took the time to listen to us and use the latest in kitchen technology to make our ideas a reality. The use of 3D computer generated images to view our future kitchen and being able to see our kitchen as it was built on the factory floor at any time was a real bonus. Replacing a very solid circa 1970s kitchen and unfortunately seeing that things these days aren’t built the way they use to be, I was pleasantly astounded by the detail that Ian and his team put into ensuring the kitchen would be solid and robust and last the test of time. In addition, from observing what appeared to us an unlimited number of showrooms, we have yet to see the level of sturdiness and “heavy duty” construction that we are thankful went into our kitchen. This same philosophy was extended even during installation, which is really where a kitchen will shine and command attention and where the workmanship and dedication of Ian’s team to ensure the installation process was faultless, was exceptional to say the least. I greatly urge anyone that may require a cabinet firm to bring life into their existing or new kitchen with a solid and uncompromising quality build and that will listen and deliver on their vision, to strongly consider Fairmont Cabinets. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them. We are absolutely flabbergasted with the level of detail and workmanship, which for anyone who knows how fussy I am, is quite a statement indeed. P.S. I have NO affiliation with Fairmont Cabinets, just an extremely satisfied customer. Nick. I do enjoy the drama:-D In his latest two videos he has started bringing security guards to site, I am waiting for the punch on to begin lol 6 45539 It's all about wireless, self install now.
