Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Aug 30, 2010 11:49 am The 'show me your kitchen' thread meanders in various places and right now, quite a few of us are looking for info on handle-less kitchen drawers. If you have some, and still have product details, please let us know! Specifically, we are keen to know: [*]what product you are using (brand, model) [*]how the product is fitted to the drawer [*]how the drawer is opened [*]roughly how much they cost you, if you feel comfortable to share that with us. Thanks in anticipation. e. Re: Handle-less drawers 2Aug 30, 2010 12:24 pm Not sure what you mean by "product"? A handleless drawer can be achieved by the cabinet maker with no "product" required. Ours simply has the top lip of the drawer cut at a 45 degree angle with a fascia pulled down behind it. I don't know what the cost was because we never got quoted for handles but our cabinet maker said that the difference was minimal once you take into account the cost of handles etc. Re: Handle-less drawers 3Aug 30, 2010 12:35 pm Do you mean the ones with the metal strip along the cupboard/draw that is inset into it? Also, the metal handles can pinch if you have your hand at either end of the hndle as it passes the next draw's handle, IYNWIM. I prefer the look to, it is much cleaner and more minimalist. The aluminum inset is a bit "office" kitchen to me. The only downside I can see is that over time, the finish on the top of the drawesr will become chipped or worn. Ours are 2pac so it is a simple enough thing to get fixed so I am not going to worry about that too much. Here is a pic of one side of our kitchen, http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad30 ... From what my cabinet maker told me you can only have recessed handles on 2pak cabinetry. Apparently they can't do it on vinyl wrap due to splitting the wrap / voiding warranty. Not sure about Laminex / Formica - but was told it wasn't an option for Polytec for that reason. Can't tell you the price difference as it was over a year ago and I have a hard enough time remembering what I did last month LOL. Some things are worth waiting for. Her hardware was from Lincoln Sentry, but unfortunately she no longer has the details and the Lincoln Sentry website offers no clues. Hmm. I might email the picture to them! Yes you can, if your cabinet maker knows what they're doing Custom European Cabinets - Melbourne Kitchen Specialist PM for business details as website currently being updated! Our Crazy Owner Builder Journey! Re: Handle-less drawers 9Aug 30, 2010 11:32 pm our handles (rails really) sit on the cabinets, not the drawers or cupboards. We have laminex Polar white in Silk gloss finish, with 1mm ABS edge. On our Job Spec sheet they are "Solu" Aluminium Rail 2110.38.042 with 30mm reveal between door/drawer panels. http://www.solu.com.au/product.show.ifr ... ntypeid=23 For the overheads they just have a set back underneath. We had to have a handle on the microwave swing up cupboard, it is a recessed aluminim one 9995416. Personally I love the shadow line the aluminium handles give. I'm pretty sure we could have got them in white as well.
