Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Aug 11, 2010 3:42 pm Hi Guys n Girls My first time posting a new topic - so please be kind My partner and I are building a home with Porter Davis – Manchester I ( with the Alfresco upgrade) We made all of our colour and tile selections months ago and now I’m second guessing my choices as the weeks drag by (we have 2 weeks before the door closes on our opportunity to change colours) Colour selections as follows: Colours – Kitchen Floor Tiles : Portfino – Coastal matt – ivorio satin Kitchen Splashback : Ash Wall Gloss Cupboards : Licorice Linea Benchtop : Caesar stone – Ice White Paint : Oriental White Colours – Bathroom Floor and Wall tiles : Banur Cloud (333 x 333) Cupboards and Benchtop : Licorice Linea Paint : Oriental White I’m pretty happy with the tiles I think – because I was after more sedate and neutral tones – and the colours we’ve chosen are slightly lighter than what I would call mocha ? My main issue at the moment is the cupboards and whether or not “licorice linea” will be too dark Looking for peoples opinions or comments on what we have chosen as I seem to decide whether what we’ve chosen is gonna to look ok or like some train wreck waiting to happen I have attached a link to the PD website so that you can have a look at the layout and size of the kitchen etc …. http://www.porterdavis.com.au/#/homeviewer/manchester/i I’ll try and post some pics of the tiles and colour selections when I get home ( but if you Google it you get a pretty good idea of the colours) Would appreciate any feedback you can offer . Thanks in advance (and sorry about the long post) Kerry Re: Help !!! crazy with worry over colour selection 2Aug 11, 2010 3:49 pm Hi dreamer_kerry, Thanks for the post and welcome to Homeone. Licorice Linea underbench cupboards and a white benchtop, I think the floor tiles are similar to the ones you have. The paint colour here is White Pepper, but it does give you an idea. Your selections are fine, you have nothing to stress about. Sorry it's been a crazy few days at work and I seem to have lost the camera cable hoping to get a replacement this weekend and should be able to post some pics then. Thanks so much for the responses and pics made me feel much better Re: Help !!! crazy with worry over colour selection 7Aug 26, 2010 10:56 pm Hi dreamer_kerry... Your selections are fine! ps love the pics of your kitchen Flagstaff Re: Help !!! crazy with worry over colour selection 9Aug 26, 2010 11:05 pm dreamer_kerry Lol well we're still waiting for our land to title it's been delayed a bit and is now expected in October sometime .... I sure wish they would hurry up because not only am I impatient but also we requested a start date in November with our builder Eeeeeeeeeeeek! I totally feel your pain! Our land was suppose to title in March so we could start in April... land didn't title till end of April so our build started in June! We should be in by the end of next month! Just means lots of time to save money and to plan everything you want to do with your house! Our house is being painted in Oriental White too... so I'll hopefully have some pics this weekend if you'd like some pictorial references BTW... good to see someone else building a Smart Living range Re: Help !!! crazy with worry over colour selection 10Aug 27, 2010 2:51 pm flagstaffIV dreamer_kerry Lol well we're still waiting for our land to title it's been delayed a bit and is now expected in October sometime .... Quick question did you get an independent building inspector for any of the build stages ? Re: Help !!! crazy with worry over colour selection 11Aug 27, 2010 6:37 pm Yes... it just feels like it draaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaags on! Awww that sucks... the damn drought decides to end now out of all times!!! Aw, thank you lovely I can't blame you for being a thread stalker, everyone has such nice houses and you also get a good sense of how your place will look. Unfortunately the painter won't start until next week now but I'll definitely post pics up when it's all painted! Ah yes... I loved the house too... gorgeous colours! If we had the money we would've built the Manchester II, but this was the best fit for us We did want to get an independent inspector, but our SS has been really good and has always answered all of our queries. I will definitely be getting an inspector for PCI though. We were very lucky though... house has gone up without any hiccups... all things have been fixed. I had 28m2 of engineered pavers laid six months back and it was difficult to find someone not taking the pi$$. Internet suggested it should be $85-100/m2 to lay them.… 3 12352 Hi there, we have classic cream gutters, fascia’s, roller door and undercover carport.
