Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Oct 31, 2007 2:38 pm I've been watching the "Grand Designs" on ABC TV every Thursday. That's a doco about people building fancy (not necessarily expensive though) houses in the UK. In the last week programme there was a kitchen with a pop-up oven cabinet. Has anyone seen/made something like this in this country ? My father rode a camel, I drive a car, my son flies in a jetliner, his son will ride a camel.Saudi saying Re: Pop up oven. 3Oct 31, 2007 10:22 pm renomart I haven't seen a pop up oven yet though I have seen one in reverse. Here is an oven from Gaggenau ??? What happens if you want to cook a roast chicken in one dish and the vegetables in the other? Or for that matter, anything that requires more than one level in the oven? Does it come with special trays that provide an opportunity to load more than one large dish at once? Everything I know, I learned from SBS. LATEST: Frame Complete http://metricon-mercer.livejournal.com Re: Pop up oven. 4Nov 01, 2007 11:24 am Quote: ?? What happens if you want to cook a roast chicken in one dish and the vegetables in the other? I don't quite understand this question. That oven was just a standard largish electric one, with shelves, etc, built into a special cabinet that had top flush with the bench, totally invisible, but would rise up at the push of a button. I wish I recorded that doco, 'cause I don't remember the details all that clearly, it was just a glimpse, when the proud owner demonstrated it. But of course I happily stand here to be corrected. Cheers, Earl Re: Pop up oven. 7Nov 01, 2007 12:05 pm renomart It's great. I can hold a beer in it just as good as my other hand... I am glad to hear it. Notice for all: When selecting your kitchen professional it is recommended to base your assessment on whether they can hold one beer in each hand or need both hands to hold one beer. I just refreshed to find two of what should only be one, but my attempt to correct was unsuccessful - and as it turns out there was only ever one post - blame it on a rip in the space time continuum rather than a poor and long suffering concepteur... Such a cute cat - is it Estonian? Re: Pop up oven. 10Nov 01, 2007 12:33 pm Talinsmum and should we also consider basing our decision on who can double post as well? What really happened is that Matt found a way to go back in time using his newly devised reflux capacity in order to pursue his goal of managing to drink the same beer twice while actually paying for neither...I, as an innocent bystander, (mine's a double J.D. with a bit of water thanks) became caught up in the chronotomic overflow leakage generated by this reckless act of Bar Physics abuse and was haplessly credited with double posting. Hope this clears things up for you. Remember, I'm not going to have told you this. So what's the story Matt? I know we're living in the past here in Queensland, daylight savings and all - which does mean we can alter the future by the way - but it's not as if I am voluntarily posting multiples of everything...unless, of course, it is being done by the not so evil me from that parallel universe... Hi Chippy, no there isn't, gave it a really good look through and literally opened everything and checked all edges as well. Hence the question, just hoping someone would… 2 3658 My daughter and son in law are about to start building, they are having a 600mm induction cook top and 900mm oven. Could also start claiming depreciation on the new oven as well. 5 1078 |
