Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jul 29, 2010 12:34 pm I have quite a small 3 bedroom house that I am renovating and hope to sell after that. I am not a fan of creams and browns but somehow have ended up with beige tiles in the bathrooms, and a chocolate coloured stone top vanity with white cupboards! We are looking at re-doing our kitchen, i was thinking white vinyl wrap cupboards but unsure about benchtop and wanted a dark colour on the ends and back of the breakfast bar. I love charcoal but if i was following the theme of the bathrooms it would probably need to be a chocolate brown for the dark bits and perhaps a beigey benchtop... The bathroom is only a couple of steps away from the kitchen. Do you think that you can just choose a total new theme of colours for the kitchen (ie greys and whites) or should we make it run a bit better by following the theme of creams and browns. Or is that too matchey matchey? would appreciate anyones input in this. thanks in advance. You can go exactly the same, go entirely different, work with the same colours but in different tones, work with different colours but in similar tones. I've seen all of the above on this forum and all have worked. Go with what you like and what you think will suit the space. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Should kitchen and bathrooms be similar colour tones? 5Jul 29, 2010 10:14 pm I like some continuity so it's not too jarring. We are having the same timber veneer and benchtop but then using red tiles for the bathroom splashback (versus green feature wall and stainless steel etc in the kitchen).
