Try taking the photo from the top over the bench looking down at the join, 1 with and 1 without the flash on. See if that is better, it looks like it was focusing on the sink and underbench oven on the other wall. Are YOU happy with the way that they fixed it? When you run your hand over the join, can you feel a height difference or a bump? If they have done a good job, you shouldn't feel anything. Re: Join in Ceasar island bench top 33Nov 01, 2007 7:25 pm Isabelle It's not perfect Casa2, may be because the photo I took is not very clear and it's a bit dark. I'll have to take another one. Casa was being sarcastic. That gap is pathetic. Re: Join in Ceasar island bench top 34Nov 01, 2007 7:35 pm Isabelle did you check out the display? Does it have a join in the benchtop??
If it doesn't i'd request one piece. Also how long is the benchtop? Re: Join in Ceasar island bench top 35Nov 01, 2007 7:38 pm Try ringing the supplier and asking what length the slabs are made in. If they are longer than your bench, then you shouldnt have a join! Built Porter Davis "Dromana" 2007. Re: Join in Ceasar island bench top 36Nov 01, 2007 8:06 pm My benchtop is 3.25m long. All the benchtop at the display homes don't have that big gap like mine one The site manager said that he is not going to fix it My friend who also built with M**** last year, he said he have the same ceasar stone benchtop just like mine but the gap is not that big. Re: Join in Ceasar island bench top 37Nov 01, 2007 8:31 pm Sorry, I didn't know I had to click on the picture to see it properly. I wasn't being sarcastic, I was being facetious
Caeserstone comes in 3060 x 1440 mm slabs. Other manufacturers have slightly larger slabs. Demolition August 2009, Construction Started September 2009, Completed December 2010 Re: Join in Ceasar island bench top 38Nov 01, 2007 9:09 pm Isabelle,
I have a solution (for just one arm and one leg). Silestone comes in 3270 mm x 1630 mm slab size for 7 (popular) colours. You can have you're engineered quartz slab and no joins. Now if only we knew this a while ago. If it is important to you, hold off your payment until it is done to YOUR satisfaction....i have spoken to a few people who have held off payment (with different builders) to get the action that they want.
Talk to management at M3etricon. Your Site Manager has a boss and that person has a boss. Go up the chain if you are not happy. Re: Join in Ceasar island bench top 40Nov 02, 2007 8:23 am I don't blame you for not being happy, I wouldn't be either. The damn thing is right where the sink is, being the pace you are mainly at most of the time in preperation for meals, washing up, or even sanding at. The join will be in your face always....
Definitely follow it up and hold payment until it is rectified....
