While at the house today sweeping our floors we decided to place our sink inside the cutout in the ceasarstone benchtop to see how it looks. Lucky we did because otherwise we wouldn't have discovered this......

After a phonecall to my cabinet-maker and him coming to inspect for himself we could see that the stone-mason had actually cut the stone about 1cm bigger on one end than the cutout that the cabinet-maker had put in the timber cutout which sits underneath the bench. Trouble is- this build has been waiting for these benchtops so that the plumbers and electricians can fit off and handover can happen. We can't really afford to be waiting weeks for them to do a new benchtop. My cabinet maker called the stone mason and left a message but we haven't heard anything back yet.
I have just spent the last hour googling kitchen sinks and trying to find one that is bigger but as close as possible in size to the one we already have so we can avoid having to wait for a new benchtop.
The bill for the new sink will be getting sent to the stone-mason
Actually.... maybe I should demand a bit more- afterall I will be saving them a few thousand in having to replace the whole benchtop!
