Someone on here kindly posted the Laminex 3D software so I've been having a crack. Can you please let me know what your favourite colour combo is: This is what we've originally chosen but the darkness of it all isn't sitting quite right with me I don't think... We have dark timber furniture so ideally want everything else to look quite light / modern. That kitchen is from an old M'con display in Tarneit Melbourne. At the time M'con used Parbury as their laminate supplier and the colour used there is called Shadow from memory. I have the colour chart for that display somewhere... could be anywhere. I have a sample of Shadow here and the closest Laminex colour would be Stipple Seal I reckon. So number 2 would be closest to that kitchen. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Hope they're not just substituting Building an Eden Brae Saville 27 http://karry327.blogspot.com/ Building thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=44247 Re: Our kitchen 4Jul 20, 2010 11:55 am They are substituting! They did that with paint as well. There's M'con homes in the Dulux catalogue that I knew were painted before they changed to Dulux. Here's some more inspiration for you. This is Jo K's beautiful kitchen. She has used Laminex Moleskin and Laminex Peruvian Clay. Looks really similar to the look you are after. http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/jok-2007/Joanneskitchen035.jpg I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Our kitchen 5Jul 20, 2010 12:11 pm Ok, I have found the colour schedule for that house (this is from M'con). It is the Mercer 32 at Tarneit and the kitchen colours are Parbury Shadow and Parbury Designer White with Caeserstone Nova Aurora benchtop. Definitely NOT Laminex. Very cheeky of Laminex to put it in their brochure on the website. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Our kitchen 6Jul 20, 2010 12:37 pm Joles, thank you, thank you!! How naughty of laminex!! LOVE Jo K's kitchen - you know what I'm after more than I do!! I have a photographic memory for display homes. Jo K's kitchen has been one of the most loved on the forum. Really is stunning. There's some more pics in this thread. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=9223&hilit=moleskin And if you go to the bottom of page 2 in this thread, there are some pics of Jo K's kitchen before the splashback went in so you can see the two cabinet colours together on their own. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=8067&hilit=moleskin&start=20 I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Make sure you order some samples from Laminex to check - I think you can get 100mm x 100mm samples if you specifically request them. It is much easier with the bigger samples over the small sample chips they have at the kitchen places. Kylie Re: Our kitchen 11Jul 21, 2010 11:52 am Not sure if the Alaskan will come up that dark. This is Felistopher's laundry with Alaskan. Not sure it will give you the contrast you are looking for. Terrence Malick Re: Our kitchen 12Jul 21, 2010 11:57 am If you don't mind the stripey effect of Alaskan.... what about Stringybark? It's similar but a bit darker but might be too stripey for what you are after. This is my kitchen with Stringybark on the back of the bench. We chose it because it hides foot marks etc, better than a block colour. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Our kitchen 13Jul 21, 2010 9:29 pm Wow, Jo, it is so good to have you back. This is where you and your 'photographic memory of display homes' has been sorely missed. Great advice. We have used Shadow for our kitchen cabinets (and co-incidentally used that exact pic but on a wider angle for all of our furniture and colour choices in our house ). Kitchen went in today so I don't have any shots in the day time, but for what it's worth this is what it looks like (it's the lighter of the two) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Our kitchen 15Jul 21, 2010 11:15 pm Jo, your stringybark looks really lovely and you're right, it's much closer to what the software depicts Alaskan to be (comparing to Felistopher's use of it in their laundy. What do you think about using the Stringybark with wooden floors? Too much or ok? Dilla, your kitchen looks fantastic!!! Shadow is a really nice colour. Can't believe Laminex have so blatantly tried to call it their own! Incidentally I've received a large sample of the Pewtar in the mail today that they claimed it was and it's very gray and not that lovely colour at all. We have to choose from Laminex or Formica otherwise I'd seriously consider that exact colour. Do like stipple seal a lot too though. Kylie, I've called Laminex and requested about 15 of their larger samples now over a period of 4 different phone calls. When I called again this morning, I almost used an alias I was sure she'd say NO MORE FOR YOU!
