Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jul 14, 2010 6:45 pm We are just about to start our first renovation, I am slowing digesting all the product information but have become stuck on taps & sinks for the kitchen. Should I be buying an European or Australian brand sink. We want to buy an Australian brand but are they the best? We have had the kitchen plans drawn with two sinks with a drainer. Do I just buy the one that is the best price and looks nice or should I know more about the product? What should I look for? Why would I want one sink to be tiny and one huge? Taps - we want a mixer that pulls out, is it the same deal buy the best priced tap that we like the look of and it has a good water rating? Please help I am so confused. Re: Kitchen Taps & Sinks 2Jul 16, 2010 3:21 pm We bought the largest sink, ok maybe not THE largest but it's really quite big, the smaller one hanging off the side of it is the same as the one we had before we pulled the place down. Get what you feel is comfortable. If you buy Euro, be prepared to cough up more money. Australian sinks are well made, there is no shame in getting one. Mixers, again, get what you feel you will be comfortable with. Go out and actually look at heaps of them, write down the ones you like, most of the time there is a copy or similar brand that is at least 1/2 as expensive. Re: Kitchen Taps & Sinks 3Jul 17, 2010 12:37 am We went with an Oliveri sink that I was quoted $749 for at Winnings Appliances, but we picked it up from Bunnings for $335. Same thing with the tap, quoted alot more but picked up one from Bunnings that I am really happy with. Basically I saved over $500 just on the tap and sink which will pay for tiling, new microwave, etc, etc Re: Kitchen Taps & Sinks 4Jul 17, 2010 9:50 pm Another good place to visit (depending on where you're located) is Cl3v3r bathrooms, we found great quality sink mixers/shower mixers here for much less than other places & much bigger selection. About a 1/4 less than the price of good ol' B!! My hesitation… 0 24692 No. It's not original. Circa early to mid 90s would be my guess and maybe even as late as early 2000s 1 6632 |
