Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jul 10, 2010 2:40 am We have a large pantry door, about 2.4m high which has 5 of these Blum hinge thingies. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Recently, it has stopped closing properly. When the door is closed, it springs out slightly, leaving about an inch gap. All the hinges appear to still be fitted properly and locked in place. There is nothing obstructing the door, but it won't stay fully closed. I think the Blum units have an internal spring mechanism. Could it have become worn & weak? Is it adjustable or should they be replaced? Would appreciate any helpful advise to get this sorted. Ash. On closer examination of the hinges, I found the lowest hinge had a bit broken. Seems it would catch within the hinge as it tried to close. Have taken the whole hinge off, and will go to cabinetmaker to see if I can get one the same. The door closes now that the offending hinge has been removed. Cheers! Ash. Re: Any cabinetmakers here? 10Jul 11, 2010 1:04 pm No problem The hinges you have are quite old by the way, they're different now. Not sure if that matters Could ask hubby later if you want?
