Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jul 09, 2010 11:46 pm I am trying to work out what I should put on my kitchen bench and I'm after ideas and possibly photos so then I can go on a spending spree I have checked the show me your kitchen thread and got a few ideas. My overhead cabinets are Chamois and my under bench cabinets are White. My benches are Caesarstone Osprey. My floors are a dark timber laminate called Ebony. Sorry I tried to put on photos but I can't get it to work I have a nice stainless steel toaster and kettle. I was wondering if I should just stick to S/S or add some colour? I do like red and orange but I have a lot of it throughout the house and I didn't want to go for overkill. Maybe aqua might be an idea? Does it go with red? What could I buy in aqua? I guess I'm looking for a clean, sophisticated yet elegant look? Sounds nuts I know! I have been contemplating the heart shaped knife block but I think I have to stay clear of knives on the bench with my kids. Anyway your suggestions would be appreciated! Even the microwave got put into the walk-in pantry so I didn't have to look at it. I wanted my benchtop and of course my gorgy splashback to be the main focus so nothing is out to detract it. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: What's on your benchtop??? 6Jul 10, 2010 7:43 pm kyton I am actually the opposite - I have nothing on my benchtops!! I'm with you kyton, don't like clutter on benches, everything has a home in a cupboard or a drawer!!! Me three. My toaster lives in the cupboard too. I wish I had enough room for an appliance cupboard in my new house, but I don't. My hubby is the opposite, he love crap on the benches so it looks lived in! Just more to collect dust I say. I will probably have a nice fruit bowl or vase with flowers on the bench, but that's it Hi Courtney The mitred edges are glued up with epoxy so those little holes and gaps are areas that weren't filled correctly.
