Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jul 05, 2010 11:33 am Hi We are total novices so please excuse any stupid questions . The kitchen is basically good, the carcass or shell is great, but we hate the colour of the cuboards and the cheap benchtop. can anyone recommend any companies in melbourne (SE preferably but will travel) that can provide cubboard doors ( we can install) and the trimmings so to speak, the bits at the bottom and side panels. It seems silly to rip out a perfectly servicable kitchen for the colour and old benchtops. Is this a cheaper way to do it, or would it be bettre just to get a flatpack and start from scratch - we have no idea and would like to price out the difference and would prefer to stick to the current kitchen shell and just rejuvinate it many thanks renobeginer Re: Kitchen facelift - cuboard doors and benchtop only melbo 2Jul 05, 2010 12:56 pm My Dad recommends a guy in Carrum Downs if that's close enough for you. I know he does fairly cheap kitchens (with benchtops etc) but I'm not sure whether he has to install or whether he sells the doors etc and you can install them. If you're interested let me know and I'll track down their name for you. They did the cupboard doors and benchtop for my new kitchen and I'm happy with it. We had to go back and forth a few times because of mistakes on our side and they were always co-operative in getting things fixed. Status: sold our first house, moved in with parents, bought our second in Pakenham, still planning to build in a few years time. Where as the best the flat pack places would do was some filler panels, although there might be some better ones out there that where more helpful.
